Okay, this is not cool. I was enjoying that cup of coffee, alright!

[The voice on the other end of your Gears comes through before the feed does, or at least it seems to. Then whoever's holding it seems to realize that they're covering the camera with their thumb and a man in a cheap blue suit with spiky hair that looks like it belongs in Tomorrowland is revealed.]

Oh, whoops-- Is this a camera? Nifty. Wonder if I can get my ringtone on this thing, I paid for that.

[Right when he says that he realizes that is not the point, and he coughs into his fist.]

Alright, considering this thing is hooked up to a network, I'm going to assume I'm not the only person who's been sucked away from home. Anybody want to share what's going on? I really, really hate being in the dark. And I really, really want to get home. Or at least get another cup of coffee. I feel like I'm gonna need it.

[He makes some vague gesture at the house he just left.]

It was a while ago, but you were here before. I uh...don't have any of your old Pokemon, but I think some others do.

[His voice is shaky, like he can't contain his excitement. It's almost as if he hasn't seen Phoenix in ages...

[Oh god he's so confused. He fumbles with the bag and nearly drops the Gear, but hey, no big deal right?]

Yep, but they're not here! 'cause funny story, we're actually in the Pokemon world.

Next, he pokes at the Pokeball.]

Okay, throw it at the ground and your Pokemon should pop out!

[He's pretty curious to see what Phoenix ends up with this time around, since Butch is with Heather... Oh man, Heather. That'll be interesting.]

[He's more worried about sober. Bemused, he decides to humor his old friend and does as he's told, and is kind of shellshocked when he gets a facefull of purple smoke.]

I can assure you that there are plenty of other people going through the same situation you are, good sir. We've been brought to a land called Johto; apparently our task is to capture and raise animal-like creatures called Pokémon. However, I regret to inform you that there is no way to return home of your own free will, so you'd better get used to it here.

[Well that's lovely! Somebody polite and not sniffling and smearing snot on the camera!]

It sounds like something out of a kid's show...

[He does groan at the idea of not being able to get home.]

Great. Uh... well, there's probably things I need to know about this place if I'm stuck here, huh?

Indeed! Let's see... First off, have you met your starter Pokémon yet?

Huh... nope. Is there a place I have to go? ...Is it even going to be open this late at night?

No, no! It should already be with you. Try looking in your bag; it's kept inside a small red and white ball.

That seems pretty...cramped.

[Derp. He'll try that, but gee... Oh, there it is. It's...pretty small. How big are these animals again?]

Correct! It may be small, but it seems that most Pokémon are quite content in there.

Now, all you have to do is give that ball a toss and it should come right out! Do be careful, though; you never know what kind of creature could be inside.

There isn't a way to get home. At least, not by our own choice.
