First Case {Video}

Okay, this is not cool. I was enjoying that cup of coffee, alright!

[The voice on the other end of your Gears comes through before the feed does, or at least it seems to. Then whoever's holding it seems to realize that they're covering the camera with their thumb and a man in a cheap blue suit with spiky hair that looks like it belongs in Tomorrowland is revealed.]

Oh, whoops-- Is this a camera? Nifty. Wonder if I can get my ringtone on this thing, I paid for that.

[Right when he says that he realizes that is not the point, and he coughs into his fist.]

Alright, considering this thing is hooked up to a network, I'm going to assume I'm not the only person who's been sucked away from home. Anybody want to share what's going on? I really, really hate being in the dark. And I really, really want to get home. Or at least get another cup of coffee. I feel like I'm gonna need it.

[ooc: IIIIIIIIIII will get a contact post up pronto. In the meantime, have this!]

Oh, they don't die! Nobody...dies here. It's...strange.
vengefulyears: (i'm so wonderful)

[Video] NO YOU'RE NOT!!

Indeed! I'd say you lucked out.

Now, it's crucial that you train your Gastly and obtain other Pokémon as well. I don't know if you're the battling type, but whether you are or not, you need to train your Pokémon as much as you can in order to protect yourself against wild Pokémon and other trainers. Weapons are just about nonexistent here, and if you had any supernatural powers back in your world, you'll find that they've been rendered completely useless.

[Jack lets the DEATH topic drop and swaps back to Information mode.]

That's right. That's generally how it goes. There are places called Pokemon Centers that heal them, and people, back to perfect health. But other than just fighting each other, your pokemon also protect you. They're our friends!
vengefulyears: ([sprite] so disappoint)

[Video] ARE NOT!!!

[personal profile] vengefulyears 2012-06-18 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
[And now Clive's expression and tone become more serious.]

Because some trainers can be just as dangerous as wild Pokémon, if not even more so. There was actually a very gruesome network post earlier of a young girl being viciously assaulted by another trainer's Pokémon.
tobeyourhero: (I told you that I'll pilot it!!!)

It IS a good thing! Well, it might take others a while long to adjust than others.

You can connect with your wild side! Explore the deepest depths! Meet all sorts of interesting people!

Because this place sucks? And whoever's in charge seems to have this perverse fetish for stealing people from home and dumping them here. Jerk doesn't even provide a way back.

Get comfortable, bro.
tobeyourhero: (HARMONY HARMONY OH LOVE.)

[personal profile] tobeyourhero 2012-06-18 10:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhhh? Are you a detective?!
tobeyourhero: (Let's make things more interesting!)

[personal profile] tobeyourhero 2012-06-18 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Hoh? That still sounds like a cool job. If you can protect people, then that makes you a hero.
vengefulyears: (now how should i ruin your life...)

[Video] ARE NOOOOOOOT!!

I don't know. At the very least, I can say that if she ends up dying, she won't be gone long. I don't know how it's possible, but death isn't permanent here. I've already died here once myself, so I can attest to that.
memorychains: (♥ my head and my heart are colliding)

Um, yes, but it's still not definite. Sometimes they're sent home for real. Sometimes, they're sent home while they're asleep. They stay asleep for a while, sometimes taking weeks, and when they wake up, they feel like they were sent back home. Or rather, have memories of going back home.
usedsuitup: (Are you sure?)

[personal profile] usedsuitup 2012-06-18 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I meant in the world.

Which is pretty hard considering the wilderness part. You're walking for the first bit and it takes about three days to get to the next town, Cherrygrove. That place sucks, so I'd keep going. Takes a week to get to Violet city. Which is a step up, I admit.

You ever camped before?
idlewanderlust: (Then I shall become melon...)

Mm~ There's bound to be a coffee machine in one of the houses that you could make use of... *As if just walking into a NPC's house is Totally Normal.*
quickattackjack: (???)

You get used to it though. Somebody once explained to me that this world is from something called a video game. They don't have those where I'm from, but I'd believe it.
